Chang Bingyu Hits Stunning 147 Maximum Break in Shenzhen Open Qualifiers
Chang Bingyu produced one of the standout performances of the 2026/27 snooker season by compiling a superb 147 maximum break during his emphatic 5-0 victory over Chatchapong Nasa in the Shenzhen Open qualifiers.
The 23-year-old Chinese cueist was in exceptional form throughout the match, producing his perfect break in the fourth frame before adding further contributions of 109, 134, 83 and 135. Chang completed the whitewash in just 57 minutes, conceding only 24 points in a dominant display.
Third Career Maximum for Chang Bingyu
The maximum break is the third 147 of Chang Bingyu’s career and the 244th official maximum break in professional snooker history.
Having also made 147s during the qualifying rounds of both the UK Championship and World Championship last season, Chang has now compiled three of the last 12 official maximum breaks, underlining his reputation as one of the game’s most exciting break-builders.
His latest maximum also puts him in contention for the tournament’s £5,000 highest break prize.
Final Qualifying Round Beckons
Chang will now face Elliot Slessor in the final qualifying round on Wednesday, with the winner securing a place at the Shenzhen Open finals, which take place in China this September.
Other Results from the Shenzhen Open Qualifiers
There were several other notable performances during Tuesday’s action in Leicester.
Anthony McGill edged past Jordan Brown 5-4 in a closely fought contest to keep his qualification hopes alive.
Lan Yuhao claimed one of the results of the day by defeating Noppon Saengkham 5-4, despite the Thai star compiling three century breaks.
Luo Zetao also progressed with a dramatic 5-4 victory over Ben Woollaston, producing an excellent clearance from yellow to pink in the deciding frame.
Matthew Selt enjoyed a comfortable 5-1 win over Steven Hallworth, with a top break of 108.
Meanwhile, Ricky Walden celebrated a major personal milestone by recording his 400th career century break, a run of 102 during his 5-2 victory over Cheung Ka Wai.
Liam Highfield also impressed, compiling a superb 131 break as he defeated Long Zehuang 5-2.
